Harum-Scarum Beard & Shave Review

We're about to hit spring and the time of year for some whether to keep the beard, trim it down or shave it off completely with the warmer months coming in. No matter what the of the above you plan on doing, Harum-Scarum have a product for you to use no matter what growth stage you're currently in. 

As someone who maintain's their beard but will shave from my chin down, I've been able to try a mixture from both the beard grooming and shave collection that Harum-Scarum have to offer. Their products have a soft but distinct wooden smell thanks to the combination of Cederwood and Sandlewood, whilst also having a delicate mixture of Bergamot, Citrus Lemon, Cinnamon, Nutmeg and Cardamon to give a warm spice fragrance which they have named "millions". Harum-Scarum are cruelty free and contain no chemicals, so if this does matter to you it's something you don't have to worry about. I've been testing the products over the last month so that I can get a good feel of them and to see what works for me personally and what didn't.

    

Shave Cream & Post Shave Balm

I'm going to start with the Shave Cream and Post Shave Balm as I've been really impressed with both of these products. 

The Shave Cream is very much a compact liquid powder when dry but as soon as it touches your face, it provides a good amount of foam and coverage from a small amount used. The Shave Cream allows your shave to be clean and irritant free, whilst also ensuring your face doesn't feel dry, look sore or red and also softens the stubble to help your shave be as smooth as possible. 

The Post Shave Balm is the product that surprised me the most as it leaves your face feeling nice and smooth without the post shave sting that you get with most post shave creams and balms. Again using their Millions scent the Post Shave Balm has been the perfect product when trying to prevent any agitation from shaving and the fact that it drys quickly is another bonus. 

Beard Balm & Beard Wash

If you want to maintain your beard then keeping it looking and feeling good is well worth the effort and both the Beard Balm and Beard Wash allow you to help with this with ease. 

The Beard Balm is creamy as well as thick in texture which helps break down and tame any tough or stay hairs within your beard and prevents any irritation It works very well with the in conjunction with the shaving products above especially in the area's of your beard that you would groom often and be a main problem with irritation. It was also a winner of best beard care product in 2016. 

The Beard Wash was also something that I've enjoyed using over the last month, it crafted to provide a thorough and deep clean to your beard against the daily battles your beard faces. While it is aimed at softening and cleansing your beard, it works so invigorate your skin and it does this perfectly. The combination of the two products has made my beard feel soft and smell amazing and helps it feel good, even if you use beard oil on a constant basis. 

Hair and Beard Shampoo & Conditioner

The Shampoo and Conditioner were the two products that I was least looking forward to trying. I'm not sure if it's due to the fact I have very little to no hair on the top of my head or not, but they are the products I've used the least. The Shampoo's coverage I found wasn't at the standard of the rest of the products and you do have to use a fair amount even on a grade one hair style. The Conditioner has done it's job and helped my beard feel smooth and given it a nice shine, but again it's not a product I find myself using often. 

Dark Edition Aftershave 

The Dark Edition Aftershave is where you really get the full sense of the Millions scent that Harum-Scarum are going for. It's on the stronger end of the scale when it comes to Aftershave and it only requires two sprays at the very most to get the full scent you'd expect without it feeling overly strong. It's the perfect scent whether you wanted to use it at work or for a night out, it really is a well selected scent that will get other people asking you what is it. 

Overall I've enjoyed using the beard and shaving products from Harum-Scarum and they're products that I would use on a regular basis. I do feel that I would like to try more of their products and that I would recommend them to my friends or others especially the the beard Balm & Wash. Have you tried any of their products?
